UC Davis Health announced the first startup to come out of its health tech innovation incubator. The company, named WellCent, is a platform that allows patients and caregivers to onboard medical devices into their home and access digital health resources.

Patients across the entire University of California Health network are now being given the ability to download their medical data onto their Apple smartphones. 

Vulnerable devices could provide doorways into hospital networks, breaching confidentiality or locking up the system entirely.
