This year’s HLTH conference brought a bevy of news announcements — from partnerships to new product features to acquisitions and more. In this list, MedCity News compiled short summaries for 11 of the conference’s most notable announcements.

Immune checkpoint inhibitors are effective cancer treatments, but are expensive. Understanding the least-costly settings for administering treatments, leveraging genomic testing and following evidence-based guidelines can help health plans optimize cancer care, according to Evernorth Research Institute.

Just 10% of women who had post-miscarriage depression during the pandemic received the “full spectrum of treatment” through therapy and antidepressants, according to a new report by Evernorth Research Institute.

To combat this issue, Joan Harvey of Evernorth stressed the importance of an omnichannel care model that leverages both in-person and virtual care. She made these comments at the HLTH conference in Las Vegas.

Bicycle Health provides medication for addiction treatment. Through its telehealth platform, it also offers a team of medical experts, a customized treatment plan, same-day prescription refills for medication management, peer support groups and therapy.

An analysis by Evernorth found that access to outpatient mental healthcare can reduce an individual patient’s cost of care by $1,000 to $3,000 over two years.

The insurer is buying the telehealth company for an undisclosed sum through its health services portfolio Evernorth. The acquisition will enable Evernorth to offer a 24/7 virtual care platform to health plans and employers, including non-Cigna members.
